So yesterday I contemplated ditching work for the day to help Andrew and Biff (wink wink) move furniture into our new condo. Well, good worker that I am, I decided to go anyway. When I got to work, the power was out in my building and the network was down. In layman's terms, no network = no workie. They tortured us for about 1.5 hours by trapping us in the freezing cold office before they let us leave with a jolly "Good Day!"
So, I was rewarded for fighting the temptation to skip work with a free paid vacation day! Can't get any better than that, eh?

House Guest
This week I have a very special visitor. She is Maggie, a beautiful black and orange tortie belonging to two of my many mini friends, Brian and Genelle. When they brought her over last night the start was promising enough. She confidently walked right out of her carrier and proceeded to check the place out, which was surprising to all. Chi Chi and Camille were instantly curious, and while a little cautious, they seemed friendly enough towards her, and she towards them also. Isabel, the (big booming voice) QUEEN OF THE DOMICILE, stayed atop her perch and seemed completely uninterested. Usually she is the first one to hiss and spit in someone's face since she has the most to lose, being the queen and all...so far so good
Well, 2:30 a.m. was a completely different story. I had been telling Isabel for days that her friend Maggie was coming to visit for a week, and she raised no objections, so as far as I knew, the arrangement was kosher (shout out to DEETOURDEE! CHOLLAH!!!)
"Not so!" she yelled as she chased poor Maggie all through the downstairs part of the house, making sure to wake all human occupants. Long story short, poor Isabel got to sleep by herself in a room for the rest of the night.
And so, the moral of the story is that when it comes to cats, ESPECIALLY the queen, nothing is really ok with them unless you get it in writing.
And yes, she can write.
She speaks Spanish too.

Exciting!
My life is so exciting, that here is the big happening as of late....i get home from work last night, and I find a card from the post office stating that I have a package. This is not just any package, but one that is insured and requires my signature to pick up.
Inconvenient, yet intriguing...more later when I pick it up :-)
