Ailment of the Day...(Texas part II)

hypoglycemia
n : abnormally low blood sugar usually resulting from excessive insulin or a poor diet

Bodily defenses against hypoglycemia:
"...When the circulating level of blood glucose falls, the brain actually senses the drop. The brain then sends out messages that trigger a series of events, including changes in hormone and nervous system responses that are aimed at increasing blood glucose levels."
does that include extreme bitchiness???

So you may be asking yourself, why does this silly girl concern herself with hypoglycemia? Well, I had the pleasure of interacting with someone this weekend who continually blamed her pissiness on the fact that she was hypoglycemic and when she got hungry, it put her in a bad mood. That of course set off my lame-0-excuse radar, so I decided to look into this phenomenon.

Might it be possible to convince the inhabitants of your sphere of being that you have a serious medical problem that causes you to be disagreeable, yet relieves you of the blame because, after all, it is a medical condition...?

Believe it or not, many fell for this excuse left and right, despite the fact that if you just think about it rationally for about 30 seconds, it really doesn't make any sense at all. For one thing, the hypoglycemia-induced funk would swoop down and engulf princess when she didn't get her way, and then just as quickly retreat when things changed course. It was amazing to watch!
Secondly, anyone with this much of a problem with something would learn to be prepared in the event of emergency hunger pangs, right?

Alas, I must end this entry, for it is making me, shall we say, very HUNGRY...

Biff calls me hungry bitchy Dee when I haven't eaten for a bit. Or HBD for short. That also leads to sarcastic Dee.
